This month's blog is
Reasons to Teach Coding from an Early Age
.
Recent research has shown that learning coding is the keystone of
future career and success. We live in the digital-fuelled era and
coding can be considered a transferable skill that opens new horizons.
That is why it is so important to develop a problem-solving mindset
in young kids from quite an early age.
The earlier a kid learns how to code, the better results they will
achieve in the future. In this article, we explain why it is so
important to teach a young kid coding from an early age and what
outcomes you may expect.

Tech Tip #1: Four Apps for Teaching Students Coding Skills
Why should we learn coding? All technology that is used in the world
has code as the driving force. Students are more engrossed in
technology than ever. They're active on social media or glued to the
latest video game. The issue is that our students are simply acting
as consumers. How can we transition them to become creators of their
own applications? How can we empower students to engage in
self-directed learning? This article shares four coding applications
effective at providing self-guided learning experiences.
Learn more in the article found: HERE.
Tech Tip #2: Cryptocurrency and Blockchain for Teachers
The field of cryptocurrency is still nascent and will undoubtedly
grow along with today's generation of kids. Blockchain technology is
still up and coming, and developers have only scratched the surface
of its possibilities- it will only become more omnipresent as people
find more mainstream uses for the technology. Teaching today's
children about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology gives them a
marked advantage and encourages them to emerge as the next generation
of leaders in this technological movement. This article provides
free resources, broken down in terms of tech and entrepreneurial
materials for each major age group in elementary and middle school
(K-8).
Learn more by visiting: HERE.
Tech Tip #3: The Blockchain Game
Blockchain technology is being applied, or attempting to be applied, in
many new areas including law, shipping, contracts, government,
healthcare, etc. Putting aside the issue of whether all these
applications are really a good fit for blockchain technology, more
people want to know how a blockchain works. The issue is teaching
students about blockchain technology without overwhelming them with
technical details. This game is a hands-on exercise that can be
used with any group of students from high school students to adults.
