This month's blog is
How to Teach Kids Mathematics Using Children's Literature
.
Children's literature can be used in the classroom to add to a
lesson on language, arts, social sciences, and more, but we
rarely hear of teachers using literature for math lessons. You
may be surprised to know how easy and helpful it can be, so
we'll explore how children's literature can complement a math
lesson and give you good examples to use in everyday life.

Tech Tip #1: Science and Chemistry Apps for Teachers and Students
The list of apps in this article are especially useful for science and
chemistry teachers. They provide some very good resources and
educational video content covering a wide variety of scientific topics
which you can incorporate in your classroom instruction. From virtual
animations of cells to teaching students the skill of naming compounds
and writing formulas, these apps will definitely make a difference in
the way learners approach various science topics.
Learn more in the article found: HERE.
Tech Tip #2: Elements4D - Exploring Chemistry with Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality (AR) blurs the line between the physical and digital
world. Using cues or triggers, apps and websites can "augment" the
physical experience with digital content such as audio, video and
simulations. There are many benefits to using AR in education such as
giving students opportunities to interact with items in ways that
spark inquiry, experimentation, and creativity. There are a quite a
few apps and sites working on AR and its application in education.
Elements4D, an AR app from Daqri, allows students to explore chemical
elements in a fun way while learning about real-life chemistry.
Learn more by visiting: HERE.
Tech Tip #3: Top Tech for Chemistry Classrooms
Whether students are in elementary school or getting ready to head to
college, the skills they learn in a chemistry class will transfer
readily to the real world, from the chore of cleaning to the art of
cooking. Chemical analysis is a crucial skill that we use to solve
crimes, to promote safety in our manufacturing industry, and to ensure
we have clean air and water. From the lecture to the lab, these
digital picks will help students use augmented reality to model atoms,
play with simulations of chemical reactions, explore the periodic
table, and watch the inspired work of today's chemists.
