1. Buried Treasure.

This game would work well on an interactive whiteboard and is great for individual play too. In this game you can choose which letters you want to work with so it can be used even in the very early stages of Phase 2. Click to get a new coin then sound out the word. Drag the coin into the treasure chest if it’s a real word, and into the bin if it’s not.  SEE MORE

3. Flash Cards (Time Trial).

This is for a beginning reader to play with an adult. Click the start button, choose a word set and game time (1 or 2 minutes). You will see a phoneme in the middle of the screen between a cross and a tick. The child reads the phoneme aloud. The adult shows whether the child has read it correctly by clicking the cross or tick. When the timer finishes, you will see how many graphemes the child read correctly.  SEE MORE
 
4. Flash Cards.

This game is designed for a child to play with a teacher or family member. Say the sound that appears on each of the pirate ships. How many sounds can you say correctly? The child says the sound that the grapheme represents. If the child is correct, the adult clicks on the tick. If the child is wrong, the adult clicks on the 'x'. SEE MORE

Listen to the word that you need to spell. Arrange the sounds on the boat to spell the word, (why not give the rest of the class drywipe boards so that all can take part).
