  • The Transportation Act of 1920 privatized the nations rail system, which was under government control during the war.

Key Events:

  • 1920 -Warren G Harding is elected president
  • 1919 - Congress ratified the 19th Amendment, allowing women the right to vote.

Key People:

  • Calvin Coolidge - vice president to Harding and eventual president who famously said "the chief business of the American people is business."
