  • Frances Wright - women's rights activist who made a starting impact during her visit to America in the 1820s.
  • Susan B Anthon - women's rights activist who started National Woman Suffrage Association (NWSA)

  • Married Women's Property Act - New York law that allowed women to keep their property in their name after marriage, led the way to laws in other states.
