Number & Operations - Links to previous number and operations standards (e.g. compare rational numbers using appropriate symbols; use ratios and proportions; determining square roots of perfect squares). Algebra - Links to previous algebra standards (e.g. evaluate a first degree algebraic expression; solve real world problems using symbolic algebra; solve one-step linear inequalities). Geometry - Links to previous geometry standards (e.g. recognizing similar geometric figures; apply spatial reasoning and visualization to real world problems; using angle relationships). Measurement - Links to previous measurement standards (e.g. convert from one unit to another within the same system; apply formulas to find the area of triangles/parallelograms/trapezoids; find circumference and area of circles). Data Analysis & Probability - Links to previous data analysis and probability standards (e.g. determine mean or median of data; connect data sets and their graphical representations; make conjectures and predictions based on data).
